CANCELLED: Arduino for Beginners

This class is designed to provide an introduction to, and develop a basic skill set for, working with Arduino. Additional participants are welcome if you bring your own laptop–please choose the “I Will Bring my Own Laptop” registration option. All class attendees must have an NRH or NTLC member library card in good standing. Please read The Maker Usage Policy for more information. -Look at different flavors of Arduino that are available

-Learn the Arduino IDE to talk about developing sketches and code formatting

Building Redstone Devices in Minecraft

Do you love Minecraft but need some help to understand redstone devices? Maybe you’ve built with redstone and wondered how you’d construct the same devices in the real world? This class is for you! We’ll start with redstone basics, building a power source and redstone lantern, then we’ll recreate the same circuit back here in the real world before moving on to move advanced concepts. The class will also include next steps for using your creativity and expanding your knowledge of redstone, electronics, or both. The class will be taught on a PC-based server. The Maker Spot has a few laptops available and you may bring your own. No prior electronics experience is required. Attendees should have a basic understanding of Minecraft.

This class is for Minecraft players 12 years  and older.

Arduino Sensors

Want to be able to use your Arduino to detect movement?  Or tell how far your robot is from the nearest obstacle? This course will go over some common sensors that are used with Arduino, including how they work and how you can use them to make your next project great! Anybody is welcome to attend, but people with some basic Arduino familiarity will benefit most from this course.
